Ostomy bags

One piece system

  • This can be helpful when you are wearing a more fitted style of clothing.
  • The bag and wafer/flange cannot be separated so this can feel more secure, since there is zero chance of the bag and flange coming apart.
  • One-Piece systems are generally less expensive than Two-Piece Ostomy systems.

Transparent Bag

Used in first 6-8 weeks of surgery to observe the stoma colour, condition, mucocutaneous suture, colour of the gastric content.

Opaque Bag

Used after 6-8 weeks of surgery. It has outer covering of cloth so patient doesn’t feel irritation on abdomen. In this bag stoma content is directly invisible so patient and other relative not feel embarrassed.

Two piece system

  • Ostomy bag and the wafer (flange) are two separate items.
  • This makes the Two-Piece Ostomy System more versatile.
  • Flanges or Wafers can remain in place for two to four days, which is gentler on the skin.
  • Expensive than one piece.

Moldable bags

  • Mold the flange according to stoma size.
  • No cutting or scissors required.
